On Monday, October 5, the Fresno Bee published a front-page article on community service at Fresno State. Lutheran Campus Ministry has been a long time partner with Fresno State and its Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning in connecting students with meaningful service opportunities in the community. The Bulldog Pantry, a largely student-run emergency food pantry is a project of LCM and along with Pastor Don Romsa was featured in the article entitled “Students Take Time to Help Out” by Cyndee Fontana. Today, August 25, 2009, Lutheran Campus Ministry’s weekly Bread and Belonging begins. University students and young adults are invited to attend for dinner, fellowship, and discussion. Each week, we will discuss a new topic that is relevant to young people and further explore our faith as individuals and as Lutherans. Everyone is welcome! Lutheran Campus Ministry-Fresno Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Lutheran Congregations Around the Valley
February is the month of Valentine’s Day and the focus is on love. We love the Campus Ministry that services CSU Fresno, Fresno City College, Fresno Pacific University and Reedley College. This month – in the season of love – LCM-Fresno’s Board of Directors invites you to help us celebrate the positive impact this program has made in the lives of countless young people through God’s grace! LCM representatives have been visiting valley Lutheran congregations to offer our endless gratitude for the support local Lutherans (and non-Lutherans) have generously given to our programs.
At this time, we also invite you to joyfully give through our new “Loving Campus Ministry” campaign. Our goal is to raise $234,000 over the next three years (from Feburary 2009 – February 2012) to ensure our continued success in expanding minds, deepening faith, and inspiring service. You can track the progress of “Loving Campus Ministry” on our webiste by visiting our Loving Campus Ministry webpage.
